Intricate openwork carving transforms this small vintage wooden trivet into a decorative object in its own right. Raised on three rounded feet, its deeply carved floral and vine design casts beautiful patterns beneath it when displayed.
The circular center is arranged around a stylized flower, surrounded by curling branches and individually carved leaves. A softly scalloped outer edge is finished with hand-cut textural detailing, while the sides retain the marks and variations of the carving process.
At just 5 inches across, it is an appealing size for displaying a small vessel, candle or decorative object, or simply adding natural texture to a collected tabletop. The warm unfinished wood and visible tool marks give the piece particularly rustic handmade character.
Details:
Era: Circa 1970s–1980s
Material: Carved wood
Condition: Good vintage condition with age-related surface wear, small nicks and natural variations from the hand-carved construction
Dimensions: 5 in diameter × 1 in H
