A beautifully matched pair of vintage oval wall art combining romantic pastoral scenes with ornate gold frames and dramatic black surrounds. Their richly aged finish gives the pair the character of old European decorative art.
Each scene depicts elegantly dressed figures gathered outdoors in a wooded landscape, rendered in soft greens, blues, golds and muted earth tones. The oval compositions are surrounded by a narrow gold border and glossy black field, creating a striking contrast against the elaborate gilt frames.
The frames feature sculptural scrollwork, shell-like ornament and beaded inner borders, with an aged gold finish showing layers of wear and patina. Designed as companion pieces, the two scenes work especially well hung together and would make a distinctive addition to a gallery wall, bedroom, hallway or traditionally inspired interior.
Sold as a pair.
